Hathol Autumnshield
the Storm-Carved Elf
Named for the autumn leaves woven into his first shield by his mother, and for the storm that split the sky on the day of his birth.
Windbinding — you can knot the air into a shield that turns arrows and blades for the duration of a thunderstorm, but the storm borrows your voice for a full day afterward, and you must speak only in gestures.

Every dusk, you climb the highest branch of the lone oak at the grove’s center and wait for the first star. You have done this for six hundred years, and the tree no longer creaks under your weight. The wind curls around you like a living thing, and you sometimes taste the names of the storms that have passed through your bones — each one a different shade of cold.
