Maeglor Paleroot
the Stillwater Elf
Named for the pale, water-threaded roots of the reeds that grow in the house's lagoon, and for the keen quiet that settles over it before a storm.
Power
Reedfast — you can hold your breath as long as a reed stands in still water, and in that time you can hear the murmurs of what lies beneath, but you emerge with a mouthful of silt that you must spit out before you can speak again.
- Familiar
- A slate-grey water shrew named Ripple
- House
- House Paleroot
You keep a single reed from the lagoon where your first song was stolen by a river spirit. The spirit returned it seven years later, but the reed was no longer hollow — it was filled with a pale, living root. You have not sung since, but the root has never dried.
