Naelith Faircrown
the Deeproot Elf
Naelith, from the old words for 'near the stone', and Faircrown, for the circlet of living moss that grows upon her brow at coronation.
Power
You can call moss to spread across any surface, binding stone so tightly that it cracks; but each use leaves a patch of your skin grey and numb, as if the stone remembers its debt.

You were sitting on the throne's dais, tracing the grain of the ancient oak, when the first moss crept up your arm without warning. The court fell silent. The crown you had never wanted settled on your head of its own accord, and the stone beneath your fingers wept green.
