Ondriel Silverbough
the Spraycrown Elf
Named for the crown of spray that rises where the river meets the sea on storm-tide mornings, and for the silver glint of her kin's ancestral boughs.
Mistweaving – you can draw moisture from the air into a veil that hides the shape of a thing, but every step you take while working the mist pulls a bead of water from your own skin, and you feel the cold more keenly with each passing hour.

You are kneeling at the edge of a still pool, trailing your fingers through the water to read the ripples of a distant storm, when a messenger splashes through the shallows bearing a letter sealed with silver wax. You do not open it; you already know the words by the way the crane shifts its weight from one leg to the other.
