Glaucia Deepseacrest
the Foamspinner Siren
Glaucia from the blue-green light of sunlit shallows, Deepseacrest from the lace of foam on a breaking wave.
Foamweave — you can pull sea foam into delicate, temporary shapes — a bird, a bell, a face — that hold until the next wave comes, but you cannot make anything that lasts, and you have started to wonder if that is true of you, too.
- Familiar
- a purple sea urchin named Thimble
- Tide
- the Foamborn Drift
You are kneeling in the wet sand at sunrise, shaping a foam crown for a hermit crab that watches you with stalked eyes. You do not know why you make these things that vanish. But the hermit crab, when you set the crown on its shell, carries it a few inches before the foam dissolves, and then it looks back at you, and you think it is laughing.
