Osmar Deepspire
the Shell-Buried Merman
Osmar, from the old tongue meaning 'spear of the sea', and Deepspire for the coral needle that grew through your father's chest; you are named for the thing that killed him.
Power
Shellgrave — you can draw the sea's sediment and broken shells into a solid barrier, but each time you use it, a part of your own skin calcifies and you feel less of the world around you.
- Familiar
- A ghost crab named Barter
- Tide
- the Black Seep Tide
The drowned village at Cutlass Reef asks you, each time you pass, to remember their names. You do, and you write each one on a scallop shell and bury it in the sand where their houses used to stand. The price is that you cannot forget the sound of the water filling their lungs.
