It was a Tuesday afternoon in early autumn when the mist first answered your name. You were trying to call your dog home from the treeline, but the fog thickened at your voice instead. By the time the sun set, you had learned to make it curl into the shape of a deer, and the deer led you to the moon-pool where the old wood began.
Where the name comes from
Alaric — “ruler of all”.
Blackweald — Black (dark) + weald (forest).
