Tansy Hollowmoor
the Bitterstar Witch
Named for the bitter tansy that grows in hollow moors, and for the stars that burn cold through the peat water.
Power
Star-shadow catching — you pull the light that has fallen into dark places and hold it in your palms until it burns with a silver edge.
- Familiar
- a star-nosed mole named Mote
- Coven
- Bogstar
The Hollowmoor asked a price for every star it showed you: first your shadow, then your sleep, then the name your mother gave you. You paid each one, because the silver light rising from the bog was worth more than any piece of yourself. Now you walk between the dark and the cold fire, and nothing calls you back.
Where the name comes from
Tansy — a bitter golden hedge-flower.
Hollowmoor — Hollow (a hollow) + moor.
