Danger doubled — peril above and below, with no solid ground to stand on. This hexagram speaks to genuine risk and the courage required to pass through it. The water does not stop for obstacles — it flows through, around and below, finding its way by persistence and by staying true to its nature.
The image. Water falls upon water — the deep abyss, danger pressing from both above and below.
Guidance
Stay sincere and steady in the face of difficulty; don't lose your centre. The way through is not by force but by consistent, careful movement — water always finds a path.
How it’s built
Every hexagram is two trigrams — the lower one beneath the upper. This one is Kǎn below Kǎn.
