The judgment
Dissolution of what has hardened — wind across the water breaking up rigidity and scattering what was frozen in place. Barriers between people dissolve; self-absorption gives way to something larger. This is the hexagram of dispersing what has crusted over and returning to flow.
The image. Wind moves above water — the surface broken open, what was rigid set flowing again.
Guidance
Let what has hardened in you or between you soften and disperse. Gather around something larger than the individual disagreements and let them dissolve in the wider context.
How it’s built
Every hexagram is two trigrams — the lower one beneath the upper. This one is Kǎn below Xùn.
☴Upper · Windthe Gentle — penetration, influence by slow degrees, the eldest daughter
☵Lower · Waterthe Abysmal — danger, the deep, flow through hardship, the middle son
