Limitation
Jie
The wisdom of chosen constraint — limits that give form to what would otherwise be boundless and therefore formless. What is contained gains depth and direction. But limits must serve the life they structure; restriction that is harsh or joyless and without purpose is the one form that doesn't work.

Set the necessary limit and hold it without severity. Know what you are bounding and why — clear, chosen constraint is formative; arbitrary or bitter restriction only closes things down.
