Maeglor Thornvale
the Reedblade Elf
Named for the golden sword that no blade could dull, and the thorn grove it fell into when its wielder died.
Water-reaving — you can draw the memory of any body of water into a single reed, drinking it dry and knowing everything it has touched, but the reed turns to salt in your hand and the knowledge fades in a day.

You first learned the reeds by standing in a still pool for an hour each dawn, feeling the mud silt around your ankles. On the seventh day, a reed slipped into your open palm as if it had always been there. You pulled it, and the pool shrank to a cup of water at your feet. You drank it, and you knew the taste of every spring that fed it, and you knew that the springs were dying.
